Ang show na may tama, nasa sine na... In line with Active Vista Film Festival, there would be a special screening of STRANGEBREW on the 29th of November at the Robinson's Galleria IndieSine.
We are at a time and place where media holds so much power. A single, vital image---a message---- lasts a lifetime. Ideas create films and shows and films and shows create ideologies. Or vice versa. Where reality fails to depict itself---or rather, when people stop paying attention, art does---often with much more potency and urgency.
It is under this model that the Active Vista film festival was created: from a mission to revolutionize values through the powerful medium of cinema. A first of its kind, Active Vista aims to go beyond mere entertainment, as there is certainly no scarcity in the country for that. What the festival hopes to achieve, in fact, is a step forward in the longstanding struggle for change—to awaken a progressive spirit in our people---- if not a social conscience, at least a social consciousness. And there is just enough genius in the roster of films to actually believe it can happen.
The Active Vista Film Festival is organized by DAKILA – Philippine Collective for Modern Heroism through the support of the National Commission on Culture and Arts and the Philippine Independent Filmmakers Cooperative. Active Vista is a film festival that will feature full-length or short films, video documentaries or animation that tackle core values that promote responsible citizenship and various advocacies that contribute to nation building.
